The NPC will encourage collaboration, leverage existing resources, and focus programming, membership, and education in the following areas:

New Civics Engagement of young people in the welfare of the region through volunteerism, civic education, board service, and increased participation in all aspects of the political process with the goal of increasing the visibility and power of young adults in shaping Pittsburgh’s future

Economic Vitality Entrepreneurialism and business development to promote job creation and retention with the goal of encouraging economic growth in the region

Places & Spaces Responsible management of growth and redevelopment in the Pittsburgh region with the goal of increased quality of life for all its residents

Diversity Encouraging acceptance of people of varying gender, age, race, faith, sexual orientation, and national origin with the goal of creating a more inclusive community and eliminating disparities in advancement opportunities

Education Strengthening public education and enhancing links between the Pittsburgh community and its schools and universities with the goal of attracting and retaining talent
